Meet Your Piano Instructor

Ozie Cargile

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left”]Ozie Cargile is a Los Angeles-based composer and pianist, originally from Detroit. A graduate of the University of Michigan, his works have been performed by several orchestras and ensembles including the Detroit Symphony, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in New York, and the Boulder Symphony of Colorado, which premiered his choral orchestral work “Song for Humanity” in collaboration with the 150-voice Boulder Chorale. Cargile has more than 15 years of experience as a professional piano and composition instructor for students of all ages. Ozie compiled his teaching experience into an 8-hour video series called the Quicklessons Piano Course, which includes a 352-page course book. In 2019, Cargile became one of eight fellows selected to participate in the prestigious 2019 Sundance Film Music and Sound Design Lab directed by Peter Golub in collaboration with Skywalker Sound. Cargile worked on cues with film composers Marco Beltrami and James Newton Howard. Cargile sees it as a composer’s duty to raise consciousness about important issues concerning humanity through music performance and education.[/text_block]
